inSpire 2018
Updated: Jan 23, 2018

In a world that pits people, cultures and ideologies against one another, where can we find community, hope and healing? How can we rise above the madness of politics, greed and religious exclusivism? Of course the answer is Jesus and the incredible truths he shared during his earthly sojourn. But it’s up to us share this with our communities—to create spaces that are safe for dialogue and discovery.

inSpire is an annual gathering of Adventist and like-minded creatives who use art and music as vehicles of expression to celebrate God’s love and work in their lives. Starting in 2013, three California gatherings have been held in Berkeley, Riverside(La Sierra) and Sacramento (Carmichael). Sponsored by Pacific Union Conference Church Support Services, this year’s event will again be held in Berkeley at the LIFE Adventist Church, March 9-10, 2018.

The experience begins Friday evening with cafe, open mic and creative performances from young adults at LIFE Adventist Church. Sabbath morning’s featured speaker is singer/songwriter and licensed professional counselor, Jennifer Jill Schwirzer from Orlando, Florida. The afternoon will feature several TEDtalk-like presentations that will creatively demonstrate how the arts can be used to bring good to life. And of course there will be time for lots of music, art and informal sharing. All are invited to participate in this uniquely inspiring experience.
